Welcome to Lajpat Rai Degree College
Lajpat Rai Degree College, Sahibabad, was established in the year 1967 to meet the growing demand of education in and around this town as no other College existed in its vicinity at that time. An idea then occurred to late Prof. Ved Vyas, a great educationist and Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India and Late Prof. Dharmendra Nath Shastri, a renowned Sanskrit scholar of India, that such a College be established which could inculcate the ideas and abilities of Late Shri Lala Lajpat Rai, a great freedom fighter of India, amongst the future generation of the country along with the sense of honour in respecting the teachers, promoting cooperation amongst the people, and developing leadership qualities amongst the students
EDUCATION HISTORY
Throughout history, education has played a crucial role in uplifting individuals and societies. In ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, and Rome, education was primarily reserved for the wealthy elite. However, in the Middle Ages, monasteries and universities emerged, and education became more accessible to a broader range of people. In the 19th century, the Industrial Revolution led to the expansion of public education and the introduction of compulsory education laws.
